Hallowedding

My most creative adventure ever had to be my Halloween themed wedding! We had a very unique vision for our wedding and our wonderful family and friends really came together to help as make it a reality. As much as I would love to take all the creative credit I couldn’t have done it without my super wonderful (and super creative) mom who either made or organized all the details of the wedding!

A little about our Hallowedding:

We had an somewhat traditional Catholic ceremony (minus mass) in the afternoon and a “spooktacular” family-friendly costume party reception in the evening. Guests described it as a Halloween party with a wedding thrown in and said it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to! That was exactly what we were aiming for!

We are all a big bunch of geeks so my dad walked me down the aisle to the theme from Star Trek: The Next Generation and we all walked back out to the theme from Star Wars. The flower girl dropped fall leaves from a rustic-looking pumpkin basket down the aisle and more leaves were thrown as we left the church (instead of rice.) At the reception, the wedding party walked in to the theme from The Munsters and we entered to “Happy Together” by The Turtles. Instead of a guest book we had a spooky Halloween tree and guests signed paper ghosts and hung them on the tree!  The menu at the reception was fall inspired, hot apple cider was served, the cupcakes were vanilla, chocolate, and pumpkin flavored and the groom’s cake was a carrot cake shaped like Pi. The pumpkin centerpieces contained apple cider scented candles, the favors were trick-or-treat bags of candy, and nearly everyone wore a costume. The bridal party even took pictures at a local corn maze/pumpkin farm!
